New Tool To Attract Love
This Tool is from Reshi’s comment – here’s what she wrote:
“This is completely random and off-topic but I just made up a Tool today that might help some women. I don’t know about most people, but I believe that the music you listen to has a huge subconscious effect on your emotional and mental programming. And if you listen –really listen to the lyrics of most of the songs on the radio these days, you’ll hear a lot of women leaning forward, women pining after an imaginary relationship, and men generally being insufferable bastards who don’t know what they want but don’t want the woman they’re with.
So here’s what I did: I went through my ITunes library and made a playlist consisting ONLY of love songs sung by men who I felt were coming from a Masculine Energy, Leaning Forward place (the 1950’s is a great decade for that, btw)…and then just sat back and listened to it and pretended that every single one of the singers was singing to or about me.
It was amazing how hard that was at first –just to let in that energy and not try to turn it back by singing along and turning MYSELF into the guy! And then I realized that it was in fact a deeply ingrained habit of mine to take some wonderful, manly love song and turn it around, make myself into the guy, and express those Leaning Forward emotions towards some imaginary man –or even towards some real man that I was pining after! Ick, how awful! And I also realized that I was, on a deep level, SCARED to let in all the wonderful loving masculine energy coming from the songs. But when I was able to do it, I felt so warm and open and free, it was amazing. Try it!, Reshi”
Okay – this is terrific. I’m not organized with my music at all, so I SO appreciate this new Tool. music is incredibly powerful – we listen to sad love songs all the time, remember songs we heard at particular points and places in our lives, connect music to all kinds of feelings, old and new.
I don’t even have an ipod, so I can’t tell you how to organize your playlist, so if you have questions about how to do it, or suggestions of songs to offer, please let’s do that right here.
The most powerful hit I personally get from this is how over the years I’ve only really listened closely to female singers. From Barbra Streisand to Laura Nyro to the “Siren” collection I bought at Starbucks and the new wave of “baby-voiced” singers I see every week on Saturday Night Live and hear in restaurants.
Some of them are “pining away” songs, and some are angry songs, and some are “I’m moving on” songs.
I only remember male singers in relation to my being “turned-on” by them – by the sound, by the pictures of them – as if their singing and celebrity had some hold over me. And because they were so far away, really, from my life – it was more of the same “unavailable man” thing.
But this Tool works differently.
You pick a song sung by a man, and he sings to YOU about his love for you.
And – you allow yourself to revel in it, to feel it, to experience it, to move with it, to feel turned on a sexy with it – from a place of POWER.
YOU are the one turning on the song and listening to it.
YOU deserve the love, you receive the love, you are the SOURCE of DEESIRE for the singer.
Also try this – once you’ve experienced this feeling of surrender to being WANTED and DESIRED by the singer of the song, take that FEELING out into the world.
When you’re walking around, remember how it feels to have masculine energy and love coming TOWARD YOU – and remember how it feels to let that in – to RECEIVE that love.
Try this, recommend some great songs if you’d like (perhaps you’d like to keep them to yourself – let me know how you feel about that, too), and let us all know how this new Tool works…
Thanks, Reshi -
Love, Rori

Hi everyone. I liked this idea Reshi shared. My problem is I’m very ignorant on music… lyrics, artists and such and as a single mom or 4 very challenging kids… don’t have alot of time to “investigate”. Was wondering if anyone would be willing to share their list of classic, male, uplifting lovesongs as a starting point, as I’m sure I’m not the only one who would benefit. Thanks and abundant blessings all!

I listen to rap music often and the themes are often very encouraging for women to be the “givers” in all kinds of ways some subtle and some definitely not so subtle. Either that or the offers to women are possessions and money, clothes rather than devotion. My girlfriends and I liked these songs because we found them amusing and personally I always pretended the intention was exactly the opposite of what was outright stated. I would think of it as a “trap” for girls that “did not know better.” However I have noticed that after awhile of listening to some of these songs exclusively I do tend to think less of myself. However a couple exceptions that come to mind are Plies and TI. Both these rappers address women in their songs in a very giving way.

Rori,
I just read about your pond/river tool. Just have to tell you that I have never made so much sense of myself all at once, as I did in reading that email! I am a river, its always been easier for me to be a river, a river does not have to worry about not getting the love we want and deserve because a river has a ‘no recieving’ policy. I have always been the river. Every relationship I have ever had was like that…and Im 36, so Ive had a lot of relationships! Your email made me realize immediately that I have been petrefied to be a pond and not get any water, so worried about rejection that I didnt ever stop to see that I DESERVE things from the men in my life….and I should EXPECT it instead of worrying that it wont come and I’ll dry up. I realized I need to see a man who never fills me up as a man who has failed my initial test, and move on instead of always taking a mans inability to give me what I really truly need and deserve from a relationship as a personal failure on my part. After reading that email, I gave myself about ten minutes to think, not long, I got it quickly. I all of a sudden realized that my masculine river behavior has stemmed from being fearful of my father as a child. He never gave love in any way, never did anything really but discipline me, leaving me with a big problem with trusting men to take care of my heart, to fill my pond. As I realized where all this came from, I almost felt an instant relief. I think now that it has all come up and I have an understanding about my patterns in relationships that I can make a real change. Feel more confident about myself, because I am a beautiful woman with a lot to offer a man who might actually pass the test for me. Thanks for all your insights Rori!

I really like this tool. I have even done this.
I also recall a moment with my (then) man…
A song came on the radio just as my man was about to change the radio to a CD. I was like “No, wait!” He was like, “Why? Your name is not “Delilah”! I said, “no but it feels good to hear a man sing to a woman that way.”
The song is “Hey There Delilah” by Plain White T’s.

Robin, your post really touched me as I had a similar relationship with my father. In addition, my sisters and I had to be the sons that he never had, and he was both mother and father to us for several years…so we all have masculine behavior deeply ingrained in us, and none of us are fortunate in love. And you put it perfectly, coming from that kind of situation did leave me with a big problem trusting men to take care of my heart. I had one who was doing it and my lack of faith in him pushed him away and made him want to STOP taking care of my heart.

Dear Rori,
This is really great…I absolutely love listening to music while getting ready for work or play…Just the other morn. realized how awful the music are out there, and thought how nice if Rori would somehow get singers and or musicians together to relate this message to all…Used to like all types of music, have however tried classical; Batoven, Bach and also; Andrea Boccelli, Julio Iglesias just to name a few, think these are true Masculine energy singers…thanks Divas for sharing all the other great singers…and thank you Rori you have truly been an AWESOME inspiration in my life…PS Am now listening to your modern Siren program, and all I have to say is; WOW! x-o- to all!

I like, actually love classical music and the light kind like Strauss Walzes etc. Andre Rieu has the most amazing CD’s and shows. This music lifts me up, makes me want to dance and oftentimes I dream about dancing and floating listening to it. Kind of stupid to imagine this but it does lift me up and for a while I am in another world. I remember a concert I went to with him and I closed my eyes listening to it and I floated and danced. The only other song that really really had an impact on me was Have You Ever Loved a Woman by Bryan Adams. That song touched me to my core and I wish my guy would feel that way.

How about the song
Have you ever really loved a woman – by Brian Adams
it is such a beautiful song and at least for me can get me into that loving me feeling at least it did a long time ago when the song first came out, I still have the CD and I will start to listen to this song again – at least once a week because I feel this song has it all for women from a man and not just the lyrics but also the music is incredible
Here are the lyrics
To really love a woman
To understand her – you gotta know her deep inside
Hear every thought – see every dream
N’ give her wings – when she wants to fly
Then when you find yourself lyin’ helpless in her arms
You know you really love a woman
When you love a woman you tell her
that she’s really wanted
When you love a woman you tell her that she’s the one
she needs somebody to tell her
that it’s gonna last forever
So tell me have you ever really
- really really ever loved a woman?
To really love a woman
Let her hold you -
til ya know how she needs to be touched
You’ve gotta breathe her – really taste her
Til you can feel her in your blood
N’ when you can see your unborn children in her eyes
You know you really love a woman
When you love a woman
you tell her that she’s really wanted
When you love a woman you tell her that she’s the one
she needs somebody to tell her
that you’ll always be together
So tell me have you ever really -
really really ever loved a woman?
You got to give her some faith – hold her tight
A little tenderness – gotta treat her right
She will be there for you, takin’ good care of you
Ya really gotta love your woman…
Then when you find yourself lyin’ helpless in her arms
You know you really love a woman
When you love a woman you tell her
that she’s really wanted
When you love a woman you tell her that she’s the one
she needs somebody to tell her
that it’s gonna last forever
So tell me have you ever really
- really really ever loved a woman?
Just tell me have you ever really,
really, really, ever loved a woman? You got to tell me
Just tell me have you ever really,
really, really, ever loved a woman?

i am new here and read the old posts when time permits…….i came across this one about music/love songs…as a new tool….here is something i would like to share….for those of you who do not know about it…….pandora.com is an online music area where u actually create your own music stations…..based on an artist or a song or whatever…..you pick your artist or song and they keep adding other songs or artists that are similar. you can sit there while on the pc and have this great music…..it is pretty much free…except after 40 hrs a month they ask for 99cents to continue the month….there are some ads to see now (there was not at first). note:i reached my 40 hrs what seemed like too quickly by the second week of the month!! For $36 a yr you can have unlimited music with no ads………that is what i finally chose because honestly i use it like a real radio i turn up my speakers and can hear it out in other rooms…..if you don’t like a song u can do a thumbs down and you will never hear it again…..or u can move it to another station that you have made that you never listen to, and that is what i now do…..just in case sometime later i might give it a second chance. also you can add other artists to one particular station which really can make it even nicer……..a hint…..i made a cranberries station and it has really soothing….songs….however some of the cranberries ones i don’t really like that much so i put them away in that seldom used one or thumbs down altogether. you get people like dido…….seal….the police…etc on there. I recently added Bryan Adams to it and it just made it even better…..this is a good way to find the songs you really love…….give them a thumbs up and you will hear them often. i have made alot of stations but come to the same one most of the time, simply because i love the music there…..(most of it). one more thing you can send a station to a friend or your “love interest”. My guy and i have done that….i did not know where to put this post so i put it here…..it is an old post but i feel people will stumble across it just like i did…….
