How To Be With The Thoughts In Your Head And Still “Be Here Now”

The Question:

Hi Rori,

When I am enjoying my surroundings and … being in the moment…..focusing that moment….I even try to say colors I see and smells I smell to be in the moment…. how do you stop that ache/voice/thoughts…. you know? You can still hear “thinking” and you are trying to drown it out with experiencing the moment. I meant the “thinking” even quietly is interrupting your being in the moment.

My Answer:

AHHHH!. Don’t “try to drown it out!!!”

Your thinking voices – even the Nasty Voices – are a lovely part of YOU.

Where we women go on the track to stuck is by trying to STOP all those, to assess them and judge them and make them go away – don’t try to do that.

Instead, just hear them for a moment, acknowledge that they’re there…and pour LOVE on them.

Now – next step, after you’ve heard, acknowledged and poured love on it all – simply shift your attention!!!

You’ll see – it’ll be so much smoother and easier and feel seamless…

Just shift your attention to what’s in front of you.

The grass, the sky, the cloud, the dog, the itch, the flower, the music…whatever is in front of you.

It’s all about your “attention,” and where you put it. Its a matter of what you’re “feeding” with your attention…

This is exactly like meditating, and “letting the clouds of thought roll by…”

No force, no drama, no tension – just simply being there and shifting your attention.
